Emmanuel
Children’s Home was established on 5th
July 2000 in Aazhakam near Angamaly to protect
the needy, destitute, helpless orphans and
street children.”Emmanuel Children’s
Home” is a Non profitable, Charitable
Institution registered under the Travancore
Kochi Literary, Scientific and Charitable
Societies Registration Act 12 of 1955 (ER.588/2000).
The institution was started with 12 children
and now there are 160 residents. Among them,
75% children are either single parented or
orphans. |
| |
|
Even though some of them have both their parents,
they are not in a position to look after them
or can send them to school due to financial
problems or diseases. Most among them had
denied of even their basic needs.
This Children’s home is functioning
under the Chairmanship of Dr. M.A. Thomas
and Director Rev. Varghese Thudian. This institution
is functioning with the help of the donations
provided by the local people. Every resident
in this Institution are living in God’s
fear. God helped us to buy land and to build
hostel facilities for the boys and girls in
the orphanage through the donations contributed
by Emmanuel Ministry and some local people.
Now the daily needs are meeting with the help
of local people. The children from poor families,
handicapped and deaf children are also residing
here. We are trying our maximum to provide
our children with quality education, nutritious
food, clothing, shelter and medical aid etc.
And we want our children to become independent
and earn their living when they grow up. Also
we are helping our girls to get married.
We are providing them quality education.
Most of them are studying in English medium
schools in C.B.S.E. Syllabus. We hope that
education will inculcate self confidence
and self esteem in them and they will become
successful persons with good character and
self dependency. So they can lead a decent
life in the society.
Our infrastructure facilities are so scarce
that we cannot admit more children nowadays.
So we need your support and cooperation
to build new hostel facilities and the Boys
home that is not completed yet because of
financial problems. We are doing our best
to help more destitute and abandoned children.
But our resources are limited and we need
your support and help to protect them.
The Emmanuel children’s home is an
approved agency under the Govt. When you
donate, you will be eligible for tax exemption
U/S 80 G (5) (vi) under income tax act

Girls
Orphanage |

In several parts of the country some kill their
female child at birth. It is not because they
don’t love girls but due to the heavy
expenses they have to bear till their marriage.
Girls Orphanage was established on July 5th
2000 to provide a shelter, food education and
security to the poor and needy girl children.
Now 75 girl children are residing here. Girls
who come from distressed or broken homes should
be provided with special care for their physical,
mental and emotional health, nutritional, developmental
and educational needs.
We are trying our best to provide the very best
in fulfilling the girls, to provide for all
that they lack. Some of our children are having
talent in cultural activities, sports and games.
If given support they can come out with flying
colors. The girls here are receiving very warm,
devoted care. But our resources are very limited.
We don’t have regular support from any
source. But some well wishers, who really love
the Lord, stand with us by prayer and support.
We have great responsibility to bring up these
children to the fold of Christ and to get them
married when they grow up, so that they will
be in safe hands. Your prayerful cooperation
is very much appreciated. We need your support
to make their future safe.

Age Home |

Old age homes are meant for senior citizens
who are unable to stay with their families or
destitute. To protect the old age people who
are abandoned by their families or who have
no one to take care of in their later ages,
we started Emmanuel Old Age Home on April 5th,
2005.Our old age home provides a safe home to
the poor, unhealthy and needy people who cannot
earn their living themselves. We provide food,
shelter and medical help to our residents in
old age home.
This also creates a family like atmosphere among
the residents. Senior citizens experience a
sense of security and friendship when they share
their joys and sorrows with each other.
Now
there are 20 residents in our Old Age Home.
Some of our residents are blind and physically
handicapped. The residents are living happily
in God’s fear. We need your whole hearted
support and financial help to provide better
medical aid and other facilities. You can
visit our residents and share happiness with
them. And also share your experience with
your friends and relatives.

| Short
Stay Home |

Along
with the Emmanuel Children’s home we are
running a Short Stay Home for the welfare of
women and girls. We started this with 25 abandoned
and destitute women between the age group of
15 to 35 from different parts of Kerala. The
main aim to provide home for women and girls,
with a view to protect and rehabilitate those
women and girls who are facing social, economic
and emotional problems due to family problems,
mental strains, social ostracism, exploitation
or other causes or are being forced into prostitution,
widows,
|
| |
|
persecuted women and destitute women who had
thrown out of from their families. We are providing
shelter to many women who have no one to protect
and are living in insecure circumstances and
who were rescued from the verge of committing
suicide.
They
require help and guidance to regain confidence
in them to meet the situations and to acquire
skills to become self-reliant and to develop,
relationships with people that could help
in the reestablishment of their status in
society. Institutional services such as counseling
and guidance, medical and psychiatric check-up
and treatment, facilities of development of
skills could prove useful for their development.
We are trying to help the women to rehabilitate
themselves within a short period of time.
We help our members to get training in tailoring
and embroidery and computer studies. We need
about 100 $ (Rs. 4000) for buying a sewing
machine and about 500 $ (Rs. 20,000) for buying
a computer. We are also planning to establish
a Small scale industry to provide job to our
residents in short stay home. All these plans
require a huge investment. A small scale industry
can provide a job to other women residing
in nearby places. When a woman becomes independent
it will surely improve the standard of living
of that family. We request for your help,
support and prayer. Your support can provide
a new life to destitute and desperate women.
Help us to help these distracted women in
our short stay home. God will bless you abundantly.

Foundling
Home at Emmanuel Orphanage was started on April
1st 2005. Now we are giving care and protection
to 12 foundlings. The foundling home is working
in a 12000 sq. feet building. Few among them
are going to nursery classes. We take care of
those infants whose parents or guardians are
unable or unwilling to care for them.
There are wardens to look after them. Our wardens
are devoting their best energies and abilities,
pouring their heart and soul into the work of
acting as substitute parents to guide them in
right path. You can help one of those blooming
buds so that it can bring a smile in your face
also. You will be blessed when you sponsor a
child. And heavenly God will surely provide
you a place in his heart.

Emmanuel
Orphanage Mission School was established in
2002 June 3rd at Azhakam. It was inaugurated
by Former M.L.A, Mr. P.J. Joy. We started this
institution to provide quality education to
the poor children. Most of the students in this
school are from Emmanuel Children’s Home
and the poor children from nearby areas. We
started this school in a rented building..
In 2002, we managed to buy one acre of land
for the school with the help of Emmanuel Ministry.
In 2005 May 4th Rev. Father Poulose Kunnummel
laid the foundation stone for the 11000 sq.
ft. school. In 2006, with the help of Emmanuel
Ministry we completed the construction of this
building and our Chairman Arch Bishop Dr. M.A.
Thomas has dedicated this to the school. In
2006 November 7th, The Health and Social Welfare
Minister, Mrs. P.K. Sreemathy Teacher inaugurated
the new school building. Several political leaders
and well-wishers attended the function. Now
the classes from nursery to standard 4th are
running successfully under C.B.S.E syllabus
in this school. Around 200 children are studying
here. Above 80% of the pupil are attending competitive
examinations conducted by Holy faith International.
Every year we get good results and positions.
Arts and sports competitions in relation to
the Schools Anniversary are conducting every
year to encourage students and prizes are distributing
among the winners. We also conduct yearly excursions
for the recreation and relaxation of the pupil.
Twelve trained teachers and 5 staffs are working
here. We started this school with a vision that
poor children should get quality education at
a very low expense. We are planning to upgrade
this school and to include Higher Secondary
Level. For that we need more land and building.
But that needs lots investment. We expect your
wholehearted cooperation and help. And also
humbly requests your prayers and support.
